Prom 2018

Prom April 20, 2018

Cynjyn went to prom this year with a group of band kids.  Her date was Eric. They did dinner at BJ's and then they actually went to the Prom. They came back here after for movies and games.  We took pictures at Kaela's RV park's pool area. It was a nice night and everyone looked so nice. We had ordered her dress early in the year from Amazon and had Ginger Turner shorten and hem it and it was perfect. She looked lovely and was the "Belle" of the Ball!

April Little Things

I made a poster for Taz to ask Lyric to prom with. It was the star one. I got his approval before starting.

I bought and put this flower mix in my outside pot.  It was so pretty.  Too bad I don't have much luck in this pot and the prettiness only lasted a few weeks.

Garry started having a lot of problems with his Civic.  It is a 1994 car and we were/are determined to drive it to the ground.  But he thinks he solved the problem and bought and changed out the radiator.

I enjoyed a beautiful evening outside and Bentley joined me.  He isn't very good at taking selfies with me.

We had ribs for Easter and gave Bentley a bone to work on.  He loved it, but about two months later, I found the bone hidden in my bedroom!!

We made it a family affair plus Lyric to go see Batman Vs. Superman.  Garry and Cynjyn wore appropriate shirts for the event.

FHE treats (chocolate covered strawberries) and movie treats (goldfish).  We have kind of started a tradition of watching a movie together on Sunday nights.

Taz having to get shots for his mission physical

plus having bloodwork to make sure he's healthy almost did him in!!  He does not like that bloodwork, but he survived and is healthy enough to serve.

Cynjyn got a text from Amelia around 10:30 pm that said a house in our neighborhood looked like it was on fire. Garry, Cynj and I went to investigate and sure enough it was.  There were about 8 fire trucks trying to contain it and we along with a slew of neighbors watched them at work.  It was pretty scary and so weird.  I feel so bad for the owners of the house yet so grateful that it didn't hurt anyone around it and no one was home and got hurt. 

I took Norma and Cynjyn to Town Square so Norma could buy some makeup.  They are so cute.

Garry has been wanting to try the 3x3 at In and Out for awhile now.  He finally got his wish and loved every bite.

Cynjyn went on her 4th year overnighter.  She was very mad at me for making her go because she was missing Ethan Hopkin's wedding, but she went...just her and Amelia from our ward.  They were supposed to pass off astrology, but it was a cloudy overcast night and they couldn't see any stars.

We had some crazy windy weather and our grapevine blew completely down and into the Jacuzzi.

I did a lot of prep for the reception.  Here I am staining crates.

Taz and Tanner's wedding shoes came in and they along with Garry bought matching suits to wear to the reception.

I loved wearing my new hair pin from China town. 

Cynjyn got her dance team stuff and did a little fashion show for us.

Taz made prom court along with two of his best friends..Lawson and Andrew.  Taz was not a happy wearer of the sash and was super glad Andrew won. 

The court had to do a little relay at the prom assembly and of course Taz and his partner Katie Lee won.

Prom 2K16

Prom 2016 was one for the books!

Finally those dang boys listened to me and went together as best friends and kept the group small and inexpensive!  I know it was Taz's favorite school dance experience.  
They started out the evening with a photo shoot at a spot Ryan had found up in Anthem. 

We told them to do something silly, so they all took out there phones and started taking selfies!

Everyone was kind of just standing around, so I told the girls I wanted a corsage picture

and a shoe picture.  Andrea's dad was there taking photos, so after I got them going, I went over to the boys.  Andrea's dad I guess is a professional photographer.

Ryan and Andrew's sister Cassidy was getting the boys situated, so it a perfect time to leave those girls to themselves and focus on my boys.

But I did take one from Andrea's dad's photos to balance out the blog!

The group ones were fun.  Andrea's dad would line them up and then take some pictures, then I would snap some.  But they were all good sports and then there were other parents snapping away on their phones.  It's always such a production.

It has become tradition now to take one of Ryan and Andrew holding Taz...they claim it's because they have carried him throughout their friendship years.

Andrew and Taz were nominated for prom king and so they were poking fun at Ryan because he wasn't nominated (but he did snag a nomination last fall for homecoming court so don't feel too bad for him!)  Andrew ended up winning and we all couldn't be happier for him. He is truly an amazing guy.

These six have been best friends all through middle school and high school, it was only fitting that they should go out with a bang and have a great prom!

Lyric had a little train to her skirt and Taz, being the gentleman that he is attached it for her so she could walk easier.

The party bus arrived and they were off!

They headed to dinner at Buca di Beppo's in Excalibur.  After dinner they went to the dance.  After the dance, they took a little night hike up in Anthem that is all paved and easy trail, but the view of the city is wonderful.  Then they came back to our house and apparently had a Mortal Kombat tournament all night.  They ended up leaving at 6 am.  Taz promptly went to bed and didn't wake up until 4:15 pm!
