Sunday, we had dinner at Ryan's. He wanted to grill some rib eye for us. The sunset view from his balcony was killer! Ryan and Taz were thrilled that they'd "caught up " to Andrew in height in the couple of years they'd been apart. We had to take a photo as proof. Monday, Garry and I spent the day at Heritage Park and This is the Place Monument. We really enjoyed it. They have built a park by the monument that is has a Pioneer village feel to it. They have imported a bunch of houses and cabins and such that were built back in the day and they have a train that goes around the park and you can stop at various places and take tours of the houses and do fun activities throughout the day. We spent 5 hours there and just really enjoyed it. One of the cabins that Garry and I are inside was a one room "house" and housed a mom and dad and their 7 children! I loved the school room which brought me back to my Laura Ingalls Wilder days and we got Brigham's donuts, a nice little treat. I always love the Indians and they had an Indian village. Garry tried his hand at a milking toy made to teach the kids how to milk a cow. When the mastered the toy, they were ready for the chore.
Garry and I tried some food places that were recommended to us by Mike Van and some that had sentimental memories for us. Moochies was on Diners, Drive In's and Dives and we were to try the Philly cheese steak said Mike. It was soooooo good and worth a trip to try it. We also tried the meatball sub, but will leave it be next time and stick to the cheese steak. We then went to the Pie Pizzaria. It was one we always went to in Provo and loved the cheesy bread. The one we went to was on U of U campus and it was good and we loved the decor as it was "underground". Then when Garry was at his all day meeting at Hill AFB I found a little burger shop that had scones and I thoroughly enjoyed my scone as it reminded me of my Friar Tuck days. In the mean time, Taz had a great time meeting up with old friends. Paige came to Ryan and Andrews for dinner. He met up with Mina from Korea and Lex came down to Provo for the day so they could all go float the river. We really loved our little quick trip and wish we would do it more often.
