Spring domination

Our spring was filled with volleyball and concerts and band activities and science field trips.
Taz had a good year this year and got a lot of playing time.  He was a back row defense specialist.  Between him, the libero and another defense specialist, they had the back row well covered.

He had a lot of fan support of course from Garry and I.
He got some new shoes for the season.  We loved their pizazzy color!
Talon and Mikel came to games when work allowed also and wore their Silverado shirts even.
Grandma and Grandpa even made their annual trek up during the end of the season when he had a three game week to offer their support

He lost his last game in a very close battle against the number one team, but he had a great cheering crowd!
And even managed to leave smiling!
They made the playoffs and lost in the first round to Coronado.
But Taz played well and received compliments from coach Schwallie!
Cynjyn was busy with a lot of band festivals and performances.  She went to festival for advanced and jazz band.  They got Superiors!
At the end of the year, they do a pasta and tunes night for jazz band where we go and listen to them perform and then have a catered Olive Garden dinner.  They did 12 numbers that night!!  She won't be taking jazz band next year, so she was kind of sad when it was over.
Taz had a random spring concert also which is always fun to watch.
Cynjyn went with the Beehives one night to watch a News broadcast from Channel 8 news, looks like she had a great time at that.

She was also able to go on a school field trip to Arizona and Grand Canyon.  They left on Friday morning and got home late Sunday night.  By all accounts she had a great time also.
They had 4 girls to a room and Cynjyn's roomates were:  Vanessa, Kayla and Adrianne
They took a raft trip down the Colorado River. Here she is with Gus (Ryan and Andrew's little brother!)

They got to ride in a comfy bus, so traveling wasn't too bad.  She met Avery and they became fast friends.
Apparently they played a little chubby bunny.
They were literally taped into their hotel room at night and weren't allowed to open the door, so they had a lot of girl bonding time.

 Meal time looks fun too!

In Flagstaff, they toured a Ghost Town.  Cynjyn had downloaded an app on her phone to take EMF readings (I think that's what they are called Krissy), but couldn't get it to work.
They went to the Grand Canyon one day too.  Apparently a three D movie was viewed.

They toured an ancient pueblo in Wapatki.
Looks hot!  Shiny and Cynjyn both have red cheeks.

She came home with a lot of new friends and stories and memories.  I'm glad she was able to have a good time!

Tanner is mad!

Tanner of all people is mad at me for not updating my blog in forever!  Look who's talking!  When was the last time HE updated???  I don't even know.  Anyway, he is mad at me for not blogging important events like:  Taz getting his permit and driving home from the DMV for the first time!
And me turning 49 and getting love from my friends and family.  Toni took me to Nielson's for concrete's.
The Witt's brought me my own little cake.
My hubby showered me with my favorite flowers.
And Barbara Zach got me this cool sandpaper fingernail polish.
With mom's money, I bought 4 new pairs of shoes!
I still feel like 49 is getting pretty old, but I don't feel old thank goodness.

How could I miss not blogging about Talon and Mikel cooking Italian Stuffed Crust pizza for dinner one night??
And how dare I possibly miss Cynjyn's friends party where we made them homemade root beer and had a great time playing with the dry ice.  We had leftovers and so we put oranges and strawberries on it and when you put fruit on dry ice it carbonates it!  It was  so weird tasting and yet fun and cool to do that.

It was mostly her jazz band friends that came over that night.  We had snacks for them and they watched a scary movie:  Mama.
I can't forget Cynjyn and her friends going to Divergent!
And volleyball season starting and Taz playing a lot in the preseason tournament!
 And the diving injuries.
And the Cali trip to Sequoia national park.
And walking through a huge tree!
I would get in big trouble if I didn't document Garry doing Sharing Time in primary and the treat he gave.  Or Talon shaving his beard to apply for work at the prison.

Or Taz's cool mini golf course he made as a teacher's quorum for the combined mini golf activity.
Or our late night games of Wits and Wagers that Ryan absolutely loves to play.  And I love that Taz and his friends like to play games with Garry and I!!
And Cynjyn's Personal Progress  project of redoing the missionary board at church needs to be documented for sure.

We must not forget when the real elder from the Saratov Approach came to talk to Taz's seminary group.  He was one of three that had seen the movie!  He said he was a really interesting speaker!
Garry and I put in our garden.  Tomatoes and strawberry's and squash which has since died:(
And I constantly working on primary visuals for Sunday almost every weekend.
And yay! Taz got his braces off! Did I say Yay!!  Yes, I've been chastised by Tanner and for a good reason, these are important parts of our lives that we should document and remember.  I guess I should catch up more often on my blogging.  I think I will...but Tanner should too!!

Never had a friend like me!

In February, Cynjyn performed Aladdin for her Hollywood Kids Academy play. She had been cast as Genie and she did a really great job!  Her class did48 performances, 2 shows a night for 2 different nights.  One night Garry, me, Talon and Mikel went to watch and the next night, me, Garry and Taz went to support her.  The second night she was sick with a fever, but still did a bang up job.  She is so good and this comedy was right up her ally!!

Cruise time

The cruise lines usually have really good deals in February for cruises. Garry started looking and found a cruise. We booked on Thursday and left the following Monday for the cruise. It was$139/person.  Talon couldn't get work off that quickly and it was a 4 day week of school for Taz and Cynjyn so we went.  We set sail at 5 pm on Feb. 10 and arrived back at port at 8am Feb. 14.  We had a great time.  We pretty much stayed on the ship except we did go to the little mercado in Ensenada.  We ate and played games (Taz, Garry and I played a ton of three handed pinochle).  Cynjyn spent the majority of her time at the kids club and made new friends.  Taz pretty much just hung with us and we did a lot of the cruise trivia's and shows and games.  It was a great break from everyday life.
