The number 7 reason we go to Oregon is...

BIRTHDAYS: Kres turned 2. Ky had a combined birthday party for Kres and welcome home party for Clay (returning from Afghanistan after 45 days). She had an adorable Noah's Ark cake, cupcakes and a bounce house to entertain the kids. It was a lot of fun and she did a great job pulling everything together.

Taz turned 10 and we went bowling that day and then had an ice cream cake and he opened presents. I think one of the high lights was a $100.00 bill he got from his mom and dad and could hardly believe it! The card said something like: push his button to get your $100.00 bill and so he pushes the button on front and then when he opened it, is said wrong button and showed the bill starting to be burned. Garry had taped the real bill on the back of the card which took him awhile to notice as he was saying: "I wish there really was a $100.00 bill". A big smile broke out when he discovered the real prize! Grandma turned 68 while we were there too, but we were at the reunion during her big day, so Ky quietly went around and told everyone to sing when Dad blew the whistle, then she called mom into the rec hall and Dad blew his "attention getting" whistle and we all sang to her. It brought tears to her eyes! After we got back to town, Krissy and I went in on a new computer chair for her to use with her new laptop which is in her family room now. Anyway, Garry put it together on the porch and then Tanner snuck it into the family room and put it by her laptop. A couple of hours later, she went to check something on her computer and we heard a loud squeal of excitement as she discoverd her chair!! That was fun.

Those of us who have summer birthdays love it when "everyone comes!"
