May Senior Road Trip

Cynjyn really wanted Kaela to see Oregon, but she was committed to working all summer at the summer intern at Arcata. With Tanner being done with school, he was available to watch Jaxon and so we decided to do a girls road trip to Oregon before Cynjyn started work. Luckily, CCSD had just changed their calendar and we got out of school before Memorial Day. We took off on May 25 and headed to Boise. One of the main purposes of this trip was to show Kaela Cynjyn's childhood favorites and to also take some senior pictures at her favorite places. We only stayed a short time in Boise, but while there, the girls were able to enjoy Krissy's great yard and toys.

On our way to La Grande the next day, we stopped and ate at Wingers in Ontario.
We took a back road to Cove from off the highway and luckily the little ice cream place was open and the girls were able to get an ice cream cone. Kaela loved the fog on the mountains and wanted a photo of her with it.
The funny story about the ice cream cones is that Kaela and I ordered mediums and Cynjyn ordered a large. The guy waiting on us tried to give me the large and looked amused and surprised when Cynjyn took it!
The girls immediately rode the 4 wheelers once we got to Grandpa's house. As it was getting dark, Kaela realized that her phone had fallen out of her back pocket somewhere in the fields. Now, usually when we go to Oregon, it's later in the summer and the horses have eaten the grass down. Not so in May, the fields were muddy and the grass big and overgrown.  We all headed outside to help her look for her phone.

We did get to enjoy the beautiful sunset as we were looking. We looked for a least a couple of hours and we looked by walking and riding the trails the girls had made. No luck at all! It was just getting too dark to see anymore.
Kaela stopped and borrowed a phone to call her mom and tell her she'd lost her phone. She looked down at her feet while on the phone with her mom and there was her phone! No joke! It truly was a miracle and an answer to many prayers that night!
We had a little shower for Ella since she was getting married in June. It was just me, my mom and sisters. Ky came up with games and we divided into teams. Me, Ella and Cynjyn won!

Ella opened her gifts with a lot of help from anxious cousins.

I was glad we got to help her on her start to married life and the party is always fun when family is involved!
