Garry and I wanted to get out of town for our anniversary this year. We decided to do a quick weekend in St. George. I don't know why in my head I was thinking it was going to be slightly cooler up there in August. We had planned on taking some hikes and enjoying the outdoors. Haha, it was not cooler and we didn't do any of our planned hikes, but we did go to a city park and hiked a few of the trails there and we did it early in the morning. It was still hot, but we did it anyway to get our steps in. We ate at Paula's, a favorite Mexican place for dinner the first night. We had researched some fun things to do and decided on a couple of ghost towns nearby. The first one was Grafton which is by Zion. It was a little farming community that still has animals on it, but the houses in the town are long abandoned. I enjoyed this place a lot as it reminded me of KL ranches and some of the abandoned barns there. Our first night there we went to Olive Garden. We also went to another ghost town called Silver Reef. It is inside the city of Leeds Utah. They had a little museum area where a tour guide told us about the town. Then they let us wander. They had places numbered and a broucher explaining them. We walked that and enjoyed it a lot. We did Texas Roadhouse that night for dinner. We watched a Netflix series Dark most days we were there. We went to Hurricane one day. We had been listening to a book about five nights at Freddy's and it was set in Hurricane and Kres and Beckham love the books, so we took some photos in Hurricane to send to them. We had our leftovers for breakfast because the breakfast pickings were a little sparse. But is was super nice to get away and just enjoy the little things in life!!
