Joey has been wanting us to meet his family for awhile now. He suggested a tamale making night so we'd have a lot of hands for the making part and a lot of time to meet each other and then top it off with dinner! So we picked Tuesday December 22. Garry started the pork boiling. There was so much that it barely fit into our two pots and he had to chop it along the way to help it fit better. We started the process after that around 12-1. It was me, Garry, Tanner, Joey Adella, Annie, Yvonne and Taz helping. We had quite the system. Tanner, Joey and Annie spread the outside onto the corn husks, me, Garry and Yvonne put the meat in and rolled them up. Taz and Adella wrapped the parchment paper around them. It went quickly and we ended up with 120 tamales. Joey steamed them in the back with a burner we had borrowed from the Van's. Talon's family came over for dinner. Talon ate 12 tamales! The rest of us had 2-4 each. We had a lot of leftovers and everyone went home with some for the week. They were delicious!!
