Christmas from Korea

January 24, 2018

We got a big brown box in the mail today.  I noticed right away it was from Korea.  Elder Goon was assigned to the military base at one point and had made friends with a family who volunteered us to use their military address to send packages to him.  It is considerably cheaper than sending directly to Korea.   Anyway, I was intrigued to receive this.  Inside were Christmas presents for us! Elder Goon had put considerable thought into what he bought us.  He sent me, Garry, Tanner and Cynjyn book mark/letter openers. In addition, he sent us all something individual too.  I received a plate with some of Seoul engraved on it.  Cynjyn received a carved Jade piece. It has pieces inside pieces and they are all carved out of the same piece of Jade. It represents strength.  Tanner received a tiny owl that can open up and hold a small item. Elder Goon knows how much Tanner likes owls.  Garry got a dragon, enough said about that. Talon got marriage ducks. They are a popular gift to give in Korea.  Ducks mate for life and it is said that as long as the ducks are facing each other, the marriage is good, when they start to turn away from each other, the marriage is struggling.  We were all very excited to receive these from our Elder.
