There isn't much to do when everyone is in lockdown, so we decided to do some food fun. I ate ice cream cones for lunch just because. I made homemade bread because I didn't want to go to the store. The Haycocks gave us Conference Day cookies that their daughter made (She makes and sells the most delicious sugar cookies!) I tried the Pioneer Woman's method for cinnamon toast on the homemade bread...yummy! We got Easter treats from the YSA ward. I made Chicken Scampi and we had a lot of egg salad especially after Easter!
But the most fun thing we did was try Disneyland recipes. They released recipe's of their popular food items on their website due to COVID. We tried churros. They were yummy once we got it down to the right amount of frying. But we doubled the recipe, so we had a ton of them...too much! Then we tried their Dole Whip recipe. That was super yummy and tasted just like the ones at Disneyland! The last thing we tried was The Gray Stuff! that was easy and fun to make. I don't know that it was exactly like the one at Dland, but I've only had it once. Still it was good.
I tried the put your green onions in water and it worked! They lasted a long time. After awhile, they do get a little slimy and the roots become overgrown, but it was nice to just cut some off when we had salad. We also bought rib eye at Restaurant Depot. It was some weird Kosher kind, but it was super cheap and tasted just fine! Garry had to slice it into steaks and we froze it into three different meals. I also made a cookie trio (white chocolate macadamia nut, M and M and oatmeal raisin for dessert one Sunday. Not sure why I only have a photo of the one kind. Talon and Garry prefer the White Chocolate, Mikel loves the M and M and Cynjyn likes the oatmeal, so I am to please everyone. But is was fine because I froze the dough and we could have a few whenever we wanted. And that was our food fun for the month!
