This was a good day. I'm a mother and it was my day. What the heck does that mean?? It did give me pause for reflection on my gifts for being a mother. Those gifts are not monetary ones that I receive every year. The gifts are the four beautiful children that give love to me every single day of my life. I am blessed to have them in my life. They make me laugh, they make me cry, they make me crazy, they give me gray hair (maybe that's MY mom and dad), nope, it's my kids! But most importantly, they give me incentive to be a better person, a better mother, a better influence in their lives. So, on this Mother's day I want to say thank you to my kids for making me a mother and making this day my day!

On that note, Cynjyn gave me a beautiful book she'd made in school all about why she's grateful for me. Taz made me a yarn wall hang with his name in it and two tissue flowers. Talon gave me a dozen roses and Tiffany gave me a box of chocolate dipped strawberries. Tanner helped me out during sharing time (Yes, I had it today, happy day for me!). He and his friend Hunter were stripling warriors and Garry was Helaman. I was a reporter and I interviewed them on their lives and how their mother's had influenced them and what they'd learned from them. They were all three dressed up and after the "interview" I played the song "Our mother's always told us" and then Tanner and Hunter did a little "dance" (more of actions depicting the words to the song). It is a cool song by Kory Kunz and I was so grateful for their help and I felt it really made sharing time special (at least it made me cry! Lucky me!) Anyway after sharing time, we helped the kids make a fan (like those chinese fans that fold in the middle). It came out of Toni's Family Fun magazine and they turned out really cute. I made a tag to go with it saying: "Happy mother's day, I'm your biggest FAN! I love you!" So it ended up being a great mother's day in spite of or because of sharing time. Garry grilled me some good steaks for dinner and I made homemade cherry ice cream for FHE treats. Garry informed me that he ordered me a new camera for mother's day, but it was supposed to be here Friday and they had some hold up, so I'll get it sometime this week! Isn't he sweet.

Lastly, I couldn't end the day without saying I LOVE YOU to my mom. I won't get sappy because I just blogged a whole tribute to her, but I do hope she had a good day, and I hope she knows I was thinking about her.

To all you other mothers, I hope you had a happy day.

Wow, it sounds like an awesome mother's day for you! I'll bet the sharing time was really neat. I think your kids are lucky to have you as a mom (and I'm sure they would agree).

Your sharing time was really good and it seemed to hold the kids attention too...and that is always a good thing, right? I have the pictures I took with my phone. I will send them to you. They aren't great, but better than noting.

What an awesome tribute to your kids! They are lucky to have such a dedicated, fun mom! I count my blessing for my children every day! Being a mother is a wonderful, but frightening job! And our only training is the example our own mothers set! Of course, knowing my Heavenly Father is there to help me was always important to me! And, thanks for the Mother's Day gift! love you
