One of the things we wanted the boys to experience on Mt Howard were the chipmunks. We were armed with two big bags of sunflower seeds and anxious, eager participants. We went to "the place" where they all are haning out. It didn't take long and we were surrounded.
While in the midst of our glee...a park ranger showed up and gave us a lecture on why we shouldn't be feeding the wild animals. He went on and on and the whole time he was talking every just kept on feeding and basically ignoring him. He was nice about it and let them continue feeding them telling us that he could give us all citation's but he wasn't going to. I was a little mortified, but he finally left and we were about done and continued on.
Mt Howard just isn't the same if you can't feed the animals!
something I don't talk about often
